Burning Sun

Postby Planewalker on Fri Mar 13, 2009 1:38 pm

Performing a WILD, I slipped into a dream and found myself travelling in a bus. I pushed the button to signal the driver, but he missed the stop and drove on. At the next stop he finally halted and I left - or rather I was pushed out by some big bully. As long as I was inside the bus, it seemed to be a sunny day, but as soon as I got out, it became cold and rainy instead. I knew the place, because I had lived there for many years and it as near the person I tried to visit two or three days ago. It was just a short walk, so I went in the direction slowly at first, observing. Halfway, it became very dark, so dark that I couldn't see anything. I looked at the sky and the stars shone bloody red. There was enough light now to go on. My target location was just around the corner. I took another look at the sky and there moon and sun stood next to each other again, the moon nearly as big as the sun. The moon imploded and the sun started to burn in blue flames. Since it wasn't the first time I had seen that and I was fully lucid, I decided to simply ignore it and went on. I was woken up by someone making noise with his car. I really should use earplugs.

Wow, again that dream with the imploding/exploding moon and soon. It's really interesting how often that theme occurs for you. I'm not going to analyze anything this time though because I know you wouldnt care anyway :D (also I actually dont really have an idea how this could be interpreted).

Did you wake up right at the time of the implosion scene or after that (meaning that it just happened in the sky and stayed up there, not destroying the earth or anything like you had before)?

External noises can be really annoying, last week while trying to do my LD attempts in the morning, my neighbour suddenly decided it would be a good idea to hammer and drill on the wall next to me...UGH.
I found earplugs to be kind of uncomfortable though, didnt really like it, especially if you lie on your side like me (I just cant fall asleep on my back).

I've been researching that theme on the internet a bit. It seems very few people reported to have had that type of dream, yet there were a few that were very similar. I left a note directing to my reports, maybe someone has more to say about it. I'm not sure it really was the Sun and the Moon anyway. They looked similar and usually that's the only two orbs you can see from Earth at such a size.

I woke up some time later when I tried to reach my target destination. As I said, I was fully lucid and decided to ignore the explosion at the sky. You learn pretty soon in lucid dreaming that you have to ignore things in order to get something done. Spend attention on something else and you'll find yourself entangled in a different plot quickly. I don't think you create the dream world, it rather seems that your thinking determines the section you perceive from it.

As to earplugs, I got several I collected at a trade fair and they're pretty comfortable. I just don't remember to put them on all the time... and my cat likes to play with them, so they're always scattered somewhere.

Yea I agree, I feel like my brain forces me to go through certain scenarios sometimes while dreaming. Almost like it has something to get across to me. In a WILD I had last night, I found myself in the same place that my last dream had just ended. However since I was lucid I decided to go elsewhere and jumped out of the window. It was very dark outside and I couldn't see anything...and on top of that the dream became very unstable.

I tried to will the sun to come up with no success, then I used hand motions to assist me. The sun began to rise and Everything lit up, but it was very unrealistic...almost like it was some type of animation. I figured that I knew what was going on so I went back into the building I just left from and finished what I was doing In the previous dream. I was breaking this key into little pieces.

It was simple but I guess that is what I was supposed to do because when I flew through the roof I could now see some buildings off in the distance now. As I flew closer the dream became more stable and was again like waking life.

I notice that there are various instances where I can't go along a certain path because I feel that I would wake up. So In my opinion there are definitely scenarios that are beyond our control.

Oh yes, many, just like in waking life. I have made the same experience, trying to change and create things produces artificial results most of the time, but setting your mental focus on something is likely to attract whatever you thought of. There is no way to say for sure though if we create things or simply select what we perceive.
